寧靜禱告文

這個禱告文是美國清教徒神學家瑞合尼伯( Reinhold Niebuhr) 在1943 年寫的一個禱告詞.   當時正值世界二次大戰初期, 這個禱告詞被印成單張, 發送在軍隊中，原文僅有前三句，後延伸成下面的禱文。

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
神啊, 求祢賜給我平靜的心, 去接受我無法改變的事,
courage to change the things I can, 
賜給我勇氣, 去做我能改變的事;
and the wisdom to know the difference.
賜給我智慧, 去分辨這兩者的不同.
Living one day at a time,
一天一天地過日子
Enjoying one moment at a time,
一時一刻地欣賞生命
 Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
接納艱苦是通往平安之路,
Taking, as Jesus did,
能夠效法耶穌,
This sinful world as it is, Not as I would have it,
接納這罪孽深重的世界的本相,而非自己所期望那個世界
Trusting that You will make all things right,
堅信祢必會把萬事變為美好
If I surrender to Your will,
若我順服祢的旨意,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
好叫我此生能快樂地生活
And supremely happy with You forever in the next. 
並在永世裡得享與祢永遠同在的大喜樂
